Bigger is better

Gerry Brown recently donated some of the largest pieces of Coors Porcelain labware I’ve ever seen. The evaporating dish he’s holding in the photo on the left has a 19.25 inch diameter—that’s huge.  I’m not really sure how these large items were used, but intend to find out. This delivery was only the latest of several donations from Gerry that starting coming into the collection over the summer. Thanks in part to Gerry’s generosity, the city’s permanent collection now includes over 100 pieces of labware. While the big stuff is not scheduled to go on display any time soon, many of our smaller pieces are on exhibit in Made in Golden.
