In the spring of 1859, John Gregory left Golden and discovered gold in the Central City area. The rush was on. Learn about Golden’s Colorado Central Railroad and how it helped Central City become known as the “richest square mile on Earth.” Learn about the interesting characters who lived here: former slave Aunt Clara, Pat Casey the Irishman, Henry Teller, and many others.

Hear from historian and storyteller Ed Weising about the ups and downs of this fascinating city that once rivaled Denver in population and how it became the casino gambling town it is today.
