History | Only known Indian trail identified as such paralleling Clear Creek Canyon to the north. About 16 miles long. Left the prairie at S28, T3S, R70W, RBQ. Traveled west through Indian Gulch (pioneer designation), arriving on top of the mountains at S30, T3S, R70W, RBQ. This good trail entering the mountains north of Clear Creek is the Arapaho counterpart, albeit much shorter, of the famous Ute trail which used Chimney Gulch (opening on Golden) to reach the backs of the mountains. |
