History | In 1883 the Maggie was the first copper strike in Golden district. It was struck 10 feet down with a vein three feet wide with an occasional 3-inch streak of pure copper with a trace of gold and silver. Owned by C.C. Welch, F.D. Benjamen, and Henry Koch. March 1884 the mine was 100 feet down. |
