History | The visible scar on the western slope of the Dakota Hogback (aka Dinosaur Ridge) is the probably site of one of George Morrison's original quarries (1873). It is identified on an 1877 drawing by Arthur Lakes simply as "Red Sandstone Quarry," and is probably the source of red sandstone used in the Cliff House and other Morrison stone buildings built by George Morrison.
