HistoryStandley Lake High School is the fourth Arvada high school built by the Jefferson County R-1 School Distirct. The school was built in 1989 and was named for nearby Standley Lake. Both the lake and the school were named for Joseph Standley who became president of a company formed to build a dam and reservoir in this area in 1907. The dam was completed early in 1911.
