Overview
In honor of the 250th/150th celebration, Golden History Museum & Park is bringing out a rare and impressive item from its vaults. After purchasing the Loveland Block at 1122 Washington Avenue in 1883, owner Nicholas Koenig discovered an American flag in a burlap sack on the building’s second floor—once a meeting space for the Colorado Territorial Legislature. This impressive flag measures 12’ x 24’ and bears 38 stars, representing Colorado’s entry to the Union.
